History of Shen Lacrosse Stats and Records Booster Club News Alumni News

Shenendehowa High School Lacrosse had it's genesis in 1978 as a club program under the direction and enthusiasm of coach Tom Heinzelman, an Ithaca native that worked closely with Brent Stuerwald and the Shenendehowa Football team. In the early years, there were only four Suburban Council Lacrosse Teams: Shenendehowa, Guilderland, Shaker and Columbia.

The Lacrosse program transitioned to become an interscholastic sport in 1982 as the sport became more and more popular in the Capital District. Chuck Waterstram served as the head coach of the squad in 1982, 1983 and 1984.

Gary Weiss and Chad Finck helped to coach the program for several years until Mark McQuade took over in 1999. McQuade built the program to it's current prominence. Coach McQuade has worked extremely closely with his assistants Eric Williams and Don Shea.

The Coach Holohan Era Begins!

On December 17, 2007 Coach Charles Holohan welcomed all Shenendehowa High School Athletes interested in representing their school as lacrosse players at the "Meet the Coaches" dinner and information session sponsored by the booster club. The coach introduced his program philosophy and challenged the students to prepare themselves for the upcoming season.
